Kenji MAKIZONO was born in Fukuoka. He is based in Fukuoka, Japan. In recent years, he has done projects in South Korea and Taiwan. Using interviews and collaborations as a core methodology of his work. He seeks to confront the history and social systems hidden in everyday life that he has learned from his interactions with people, mainly the various problems posed by modernization and nuclear energy, as well as Japan’s ongoing responsibility for the World War II.

Itoshima Arts Farm, held since 2012 once every two years in rural environment, Itoshima city in Fukuoka. It is organized by not only artists, but people such as programmers, musicians, dancers, and researchers.
